Sonia Rykiel is one of those fashion houses that have retained their characteristic elements, despite the original designer no longer being in charge, namely their signature stripes and knits. The Rykiel colour palette often includes neutrals such as beige, grey, dark blue and charcoal; in addition to the far brighter colours also used. (Wikipedia: Sonia Rykiel) The autumn-winter collection features all these things and then some–the basic colour palette have been combined with bright blues, reds, black and a bit of muted golden yellow. The stripes and knits joined with polka dots and sheer fabrics. There is also the super trendy velvet (by now I think it surely must have been featured on just about every designers runway) and fur, mostly seen here as big fluffy pom poms.
There is also a new bag for the season called Le Luco–named after le Jardin du Luxembourg (Sonia Rykiel Fashion Show Autumn Winter 2016)– which I’d love to get my hands on when the collection hits the shops, especially the blue velvet version (seen below, to the right). This bag along with the fur pom poms and the idea of combining blue (even dark blue) with black are my favourites from Rykiel’s autumn-winter collection.
